Objective : The expected results of this study are also to investigate whether there are differences between the extracts in terms of efficacy in improving urinary discomfort, particularly cystitis-like symptoms, and whether these differences may be related to their composition.
Methods : Prospective, open-label, comparative (3 cranberry extracts providing 162 mg PAC/day), observational study. Women whiling to consume one of the 3 cranberry extracts and registered on the list of CEN volunteers could participate in the study. The first 216 women meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled.
Conclusion : The results support the excellent efficacy of the three cranberry extracts in the prevention and severity of recurrent cystitis-like symptoms and urinary tract infections, even in a less pronounced way, and their subsequent improvement in quality of life.
